INSTRUCTOR JAVIER FIGUEROA

SPAR is so proud to welcome Coach Javier to our coaching team! Javier has been doing a phenomenal job assisting in our Level One Belt Classes. His passion for training and his desire to help others radiates in every class. Being one of our very first students at SPAR, he has great experience in what it feels like beginning in a white belt's shoes and knows first hand the determination, hard work and skill it takes to advance in our belt program at SPAR. He does an incredible job putting students at ease while inspiring them to become the best versions of themselves.

Javi's martial arts training began while he was living in Puerto Rico. He trained in ITF TaeKwonDo. He competed in every tournament throughout his time training, winning MVP island-wide in his division. This was all before his accident which left him wondering whether he may ever walk again. Since his recovery, not only has he been excelling in our Level 3 Krav Maga classes, he is also going to be fighting in his 3rd Kickboxing fight May 19th! Javi's grandfather and father were both professional boxers with victories in the Madison Square Garden. He sets his goal on continuing their legacy. We have seen him achieve so much, he refuses to give in until he succeeds! Javi has the heart of a champion who will never quit. We know he will be successful in whatever he sets his mind to.
